Join us for an interactive Teachers Open Forum on April 17th at 10:00 AM EST via Zoom. This is a space where we come together as a community to share ideas, explore challenges, and crowdsource wisdom from one another.
Topic of Discussion:
Are you a teacher who isn’t currently teaching or would like to teach more? Let’s explore what’s holding us back and how we can re-engage with teaching.
Here are a few reasons to consider why someone who is qualified to teach might not be teaching......
- Lack of Confidence or Feeling Out of Practice
After time away from teaching, some may feel unsure about their skills or worry that they’re not as effective as they once were.
- Life Transitions and Priorities
Family responsibilities, career changes, or personal circumstances may have taken precedence, making it difficult to maintain a teaching schedule.
- Burnout or Fatigue
Teaching, especially in a service-oriented space, can be emotionally and physically demanding. A break may have been necessary to prevent burnout, and returning can feel daunting.
- Difficulty Finding Opportunities
Some teachers may not know where to look for teaching opportunities or how to get reconnected with a supportive teaching community.
- Changing Interests or Uncertainty About Direction
Teachers may feel drawn to explore other interests or modalities, leaving them unsure of how or if teaching still fits into their path.
- Feeling Disconnected from the Community
A lack of connection to fellow teachers or students can make it harder to stay motivated or feel inspired to return to teaching.
- Concerns About Adapting to New Formats
With the shift to online and hybrid teaching, some may feel intimidated by the technology or uncertain about how to adapt their teaching style.
- Internal Doubts or Fear of Failure
Fear of not meeting expectations or feeling “rusty” can prevent someone from stepping back into a teaching role.
- Uncertainty About Demand or Relevance
Some teachers may wonder whether there’s still interest in what they offer or if their teaching is aligned with what students are seeking.
- Lack of Clarity About Their Purpose as a Teacher
After time away, some may feel disconnected from their original motivation to teach and need time to rediscover their passion.
We’re excited to announce that this will be the first of a series of ongoing forums where we’ll discuss different topics relevant to our teaching journeys. Each forum will have a central theme, but we also welcome other topics that may arise if time allows.
Have a topic you’d like to explore in a future forum?

Let’s grow and learn together as a vibrant teaching community!
